Plank steak was great! Was recommended by a local and it did not dissapoint. We also had the smoked fish dip and and crab bisque. Atmosphere was relaxing on a monday night and the server was attentive.

Gorgeous scenery, but the food could be better. My crab cakes were tiny and mostly breading. Came with plain (as in previously frozen, not house made) french fries and cole slaw that left me feeling hungry. I will say the crab stew was good, but could have used a little more crab in it. My friend got a plank meal, and her fish was absolutely drowning and congealed in butter. It left her feeling ill. We liked the live music and ambiance, but probably won't be back.

Awesome, Don Pedro came to me in dream to let me know there was at least one non-chain restaurant worth dining in, on St. Augustine's 450th birthday. Unlike others, the appetizers are tasty (St. Johns Shrimp). Not Overcooked, no!!!!!!!! Don Pedro agreed the TAPS are totally clean. The seafood succulent and lightly Fried. My daughter enjoyed the wild life: including the Animals, the Staff and the gentle Deck atmosphere with soothing music Man, child, and Beast alike. Glad to find a place that accepts all and is accepted by all.

Tonight was my first time at Creekside. I came out from Jacksonville to join a few friends and enjoy the live music, that was playing tonight. Let me say that the music was amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic. The food and service were not. I understand that the place was packed more then usual and because of that I can let the food slide, the service on the other hand left me in shock and I can't let it go without comment. Our waitress was very pushy, and was really rushing us. When two of our party of fourteen were just seated the waitress wanted to know how the checks would be split. While the 2 were waiting for others to show up the waitress asked if the rest of the party would be showing up soon, mind you this was all before it was busy and packed. Once everyone had arrived and ordered drinks several people wanted to get a few appetizers while others were still making up their minds, our waitress response was all the food appetizer and entrées had to go in at the same time for the entire table, separate checks or not, because they need the table for another group. Now mind you all fourteen of us were ordering drinks, appetizers, and entrées so they were going to easily have $400 - $500 from our one table. After arguing with the waitress and getting nowhere we decided to talk to the manager who then allowed us to order as we please. As for food I ordered the mozzarella sticks appetizer, beer battered shrimp with fries and coleslaw. The shrimp was extremely greasy, the breading was soggy with grease, however the fries and slaw were awesome, to be honest the fries were the best I've had in a long time. The mozzarella sticks were also extremely good and surprisingly not too greasy. I may try this place again but it will be some time before that happens.

What can be said about Creekside that hasn't been said already? It's the one place we always visit at least once every time we come to St. Augustine. The food is hot, tasty and plentiful. The outdoor deck is great, there's usually a nice breeze blowing. On the weekends they have a live band playing out on the deck. There's a family of raccoons that hang out down below the deck and the kids just love feeding them their leftovers. Try it for yourself, you won't regret it and will come back time and time again.

Went here by mistake. Google Map screwed up on the place we where going to, and now I am glad that it did. First off it is very hard to find a bad place to eat in St. Augustine. We sat outside and I am so glad we did. They had 3 cats (that all I saw there may have been more) that were walking from table to table looking to see if they could get some people to give them some of the seafood that they were eating. There was also a great view of the I want to say river, but I guess it's a creek (hence the name). We started with the fried pickles, which I am usually not a fan of, but they were really good. Unlike most fried pickles the batter stayed on the pickle after your first bite instead of coming off leaving you pickle naked. I got 3-ways shrimp, which is 4 Sarasota Stuffed Shrimp, 4 Fried Shrimp & 4 Grilled Margarita Shrimp. It was all so, so good, I needed to stop myself from over eating, because we were heading back to Tampa after eating. This will become a staple of any time we come to visit St. Augustine and are wanting some seafood. Need to leave some room for desert next time.

To bad I live so far away...first time going here. Although I wish I had gone to this place sooner, I got to say they did a excellent job. The food was really good and they kept it filled as quick as they can considering it was really busy. The band was awesome. I really appreciate that this place has a smoking and non smoking section. Their waiters busted their behinds to keep up with the group. When I'm down there again I will definitely go again. Thank you!!! I thought it was amazing that they did not sho away the cats that were there... If you are allergic to cats then I would just say go there and just be on the inside of it. I thought it was so cool that there were families of raccoons. They are at a safe distance so no chance of them coming up to you.

We came here specifically for oysters by the bucket. The price was reasonable but they were pretty small. We asked for them steamed. They came out way overcooked. We asked for lightly steamed on the second bucked - better, but again still too overcooked. We asked for the 3rd bucket to be even less steamed - they came out perfect. Service was good and the overall ambiance was pretty good with the rustic cabin decor. The small size of the oysters was the disappointing part.

Was looking for a nice place in St. Augustine that I could take my family and that wouldn't be expensive. I saw this place on yelp as high rated and in the vicinity of the historic district so we checked it out and weren't disappointed. The decor is rustic and very laid back, like your dining in a home almost. The staff was friendly and very attentive. And the food! Large portions for prices ranging from $10-$20. Tried their blackened chicken, crab bisque, lobster and shrimp bow tie pasta, bread, salad, fries, etc. a lot of food and it was all delicious! They have live music and a bar near the back. Very roomy and the outdoor deck seating is beautiful! Your view is like a watered marsh with the sun setting and lights on the deck and trees behind you. It really was a perfect setting. I've been told it can get hectic here when their really busy which happens often, but I couldn't have been happier with the experience.

Best little seafood place around! You must try the conch fritters and stuffed shrimp!

A great place to eat in St Augustine. Took my wife here for her birthday. I got the Boathouse special and upgraded from the frozen Tilapia to the fresh caught Mahi-Mahi for just fifty cents. My wife ordered the Plank cooked Rib-Eye Steak and it looked and tasted fantastic. My Shrimp were cooked perfectly. The Scallops were the best I have ever had. The Mahi was fantastic. The Crab Cake was just average. The Coleslaw was very good and creamy. The Creamy Cheese Grits were an awesome must have. The Creekside opens at 5 every day, we got there at 4:45 and were the 5th party in line to get in when they opened. When we left there were at least 10-15 parties waiting to be seated.(hint ... get there earl)

We come here every time we're in St. Augustine. Service, food, and atmosphere is amazing every time. Great place for family or a romantic dinner. Live music is a plus!

I think I would describe Creekside as a homey fish camp type of joint, and throw in a dose of Hemingway with all of the cats just chillin' on the front porch. We ventured down south to meet some good friends for Mr. Yelp's birthday... he was craving fried chicken, I was craving oysters, and both of our wants were met. Very cool little bar in the back where we bee-lined to to get a drink before we were sat. We attempted to go out back to the fire pit (we saw people with the marshmallows!) but by the time we finally figured out how to get there, it was time to eat. We started with the Oysters St. Johns... Oysters baked with a sweet datil sauce, enough cheese to make your head spin, topped with bacon. As delicious as this sounds, they were a bit of a miss...it was like finding a needle in a haystack trying to dig out the oysters in all of the cheese, and the sweet sauce just wasn't my thing. But, I did order more oysters, of the steamed bucket variety. A large bucket, to be exact. If you aren't looking to draw attention to yourself, I'd suggest you pass on this.... as it does come in a huge bucket, complete with gloves for shucking and all the proper fixings. (Butter, cocktail, lemons, horseradish) No saltines, but to be honest, the oysters were sooooo amazing, I didn't even want any. Fresh, of good size, and perfectly steamed.... I had the assembly line down: shuck, fork, dip, eat, shuck, fork, dip, eat until all but three were devoured. (couldn't crack em!) They had a few Mile Marker brews on tap, which is awesome and my friends enjoyed a few of their specialty mixed drinks. We did feel like our group brought the median age down significantly... our reservation was for 8 pm, and by 9:30, we felt like we were closing down the dining room. (still some people out by the bar though.) You give me a good oyster though, and all is forgiven. I'd go back.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The view is beautiful. The food is well prepared. It started to rain while we were sitting on the deck and they promptly moved us to an inside table.

It was mother's day at 7:30pm. They usually aren't open this late on Sunday, so it was nice to be able to make the reservation, especially sounds I called around 2:00pm this afternoon. We chose to sit inside and it was too noisy. They accommodated our change within 5 minutes. The scenery was nice and there was a live music performance. There were no bugs biting us even though it was dusk. The sunset was pleasant. The stuffed portabello mushrooms were good, you could see through the coffee, the shrimp were overcooked on the shrimp & grits, the bucket of steamed oysters were also well done,I heard the fried shrimp were good (coming from a shrimp snob), Service was okay. This was a below average experience. I'm sure we'll return in the future, though.

The first thing we noticed is the restaurant building is in a quaint setting. It's next to water and there are many trees on the property including those on the earth parking lot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The service is good as is the food. If we lived here this would be a regular destination for us. There used to be more places like this in old homes and we miss them.

  • Meredith C.

Deck seating was beautiful. Great service. The food was less than excellent. My grilled mix was greasy. Green beans were so greasy. The crab cake was missing the crab. My mom's stuffed shrimp was supposed to be stuffed with crab and there was no crab to be found. Overall disappointing dinner. If it weren't for the view, I would have given it 2 stars.

Menu offers lots of variety. Nice to see a choice of something other than fried. Wonderful waiter who handled our group of six women with grace and humor.

Should get five stars just for the view from the patio. Got the crab bisque, very good but almost too rich if that's even possible. Good looking wait staff. The cats on the property makes it feel like a Hemingway novel. Look out for the racoons by the rail/patio, nice but they're not fans of the roasted potatoes.

Thanks to a really great bartender/server for salvaging a not so good meal last Friday night. Always love the Duval County Plank Fish, but not this time. The mahi was well-cooked, but smothered in the mustard sauce, which made it almost inedible. I'm hoping that it was just a super busy night, and it won't happen again.

We have been here a couple of times. It is really quite lovely and they have outdoor music often. Food is fabulous. Usually am with 7-10 people and no one has ever had a bad meal. Last week they had a shrimp Mac and cheese as a special. WOW!!!!

Best food in Saint Augustine. Great atmosphere and live music on weekends. The plank flounder is my favorite dish. Always fresh.

Been going to Creekside for many years until tonight. My wife got sick from the plank chicken she ate. She was so sick she ran to behind one of their outside trees and threw up. We then asked for the meal to be taken off the check and they refused to work with us. I have been to many restaurants in my life and have had items removed for much less. Food is great but realize they think it's good enough to not provide customer service.

  • Shawn C.

I will start off with OMG. When you start off it is a small tree covered dirt lot and looks like a bed and breakfast. As for the food it made me speechless it is so good I had the chicken with cheese on a bed of grits. The price is not horrible but a little on the mid to high range. As for the view we ate on the patio and it was very pretty. Like anytime you eat outside there were some bugs so some bugs torches would Have been nice but other wise this place was fantastic. The wait staff was very sweet and the atmosphere was exceptional. I highly recommend this place.

It was one of my favorite restaurants in town for years, but I don't know what happened to it. We went for a family outing 14+ people and sat on the deck. They were advertising live music, but there was no band! Waiter said they forgot to schedule someone, manager said the band didn't show? Hmm... It was a chilly night but they didn't have a fire going. We asked and they said they might start one. Kids were VERY disappointed because they like making the smores. This restaurant is a lot about the atmosphere but it was disappointing. Then, some really nasty cats with obvious skin conditions starting walking around the deck. The cats continued to walk under tables and through people's feet. The managers nor the waiters seemed like this was odd. One came over to us and the cat was in desperate need of veterinary care. We shooed it away and it sat under someone else's feet. When our food finally came (my fav part!) it was dark and we could barely see. I share a plank chicken (my fav) with my daughter. Before as we were finishing up eating, talking, etc my daughter tells me she doesn't feel good. She proceeds to get sick, less then 30 minutes later I get sick. We had to leave the gathering early. It was a $600+ tab between dinner and drinks. My MIL asked to have the plank chicken removed since we were both sick, but no, they refused. The outing prior to this we were celebrating with 4 people. They put us in a small room where we were the only people. It was between the main dining room and the deck. The manager and a customer were fighting on he deck but she brought him into the room we were in. Less then 20 feet away he is complaining away and the manager is SCREAMING back at him. She is loosing her mind and the customer is just dumbfounded. He starts getting loud because she's loud and other waiters are trying to calm them both down. She now points to us and says "These people are trying to have a nice dinner and you are ruining it for them!" We had a child with us and it was not the way to be acting at all. Our waitress comes over and quietly mouths "I'm sorry" and gives us a little grin. The customer and his people leave, but she continues to yell in the room where we are the ONLY people in. So, you'd think she'd come over and apologize for what just happened? NOPE! She stomps off through the room and never returns. We said this would be the last time we'd come here, but we came one more time and the above statement happened. NEVER AGAIN!

Had another wonderful dining experience tonight; excellent food, great setting; we sat outside on a lovely night - not too buggy, cool enough, view of the sunset. Our server was excellent - gave us the details on what was fresh, what was farm-raised; very attentive, but did not "hover" and continually interrupt our meal, as is the case at so many restaurants now-a-days.

This was recommended to us by a friend and we really were impressed. The food was delicious and when the weather is nice the outside eating area was exquisite. They had live music the night we were there too!

Excellent service and excellent food. Definitely a return warranted here. My boyfriend didn't like his meal because there was too much sauce and they offered another meal. Our server was very attentive. The rock shrimp was delicious! The band was good too.

It was with great anticipation that we proceeded to the Creekside Dinery, the reviews on Yelp were extremely favorable and we were looking forward to some good local fare. In fact we had tried to get it on the previous night and the wait was too long for us. We arrived the following evening with our daughter inlaw and grand daughter who had driven over from Tampa to spend the weekend with us on our mini vacation. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, so far so good. The menu fairly wide ranging with many seafood and meat options. The service initially was relatively attentive although when out salads arrived and there was only one utensil napkin set up at the table he was no where to be found. After about 5 mins my wife went up to the hostess station to get three more set ups, still no server. The salad was a joke, about 5-6 larger pieces of romaine lettuce (larger than a fork or mouthful) one cherry tomato and some shreds of carrot it appeared as though someone had grabbed a handful from a large bowl and tossed it on the plate, (zero presentation) the house dressing seemed like a bottled Kraft creamy French. I then had the crab soup, which was ok although a little too creamy and would have benefited from some more crab. We then had an extremely long wait for the entrees, when the food finally came out we were ready to indulge. I had The Sloop (blackened scallops, shrimp, and swordfish (catch of the day) plus a crab cake. My scallops and shrimp were cold, the crab cake may have been the worst I have ever eaten all filler and no crab (the previous night I had a stellar crab cake at another establishment in town) and the sword to it's credit was pretty good. The side of cole slaw seemed like out of a container from a local supermarket. My daughter inlaw had the crab cake platter and she also commented that it was the worst crab cake that she had ever eaten as well. My wife had a piece of fish (flounder also catch of the day) pan broiled, soggy skin on but fresh. Lastly the little one had chicken tenders and french fires, the tenders were extremely over cooked. We did not stay for dessert as everything up until this point had been so disappointing. I honestly don't understand what all the accolades are for, service was poor although that can vary by server, had the food come out on time the shrimp and scallops would have at least been hot which would have been an improvement. No excuse for the horrendous crab cakes or soggy fish, non-existent salad, less than desirable dressing, etc. We were even more disappointed due to the fact that we had our guests over from Tampa and this was the only dinner out with them for the weekend. (Prior to this experience we have had 5 other in town meal experiences from casual to more upscale all of which far surpassed this less than fulfilling experience).

Was mediocre at best. Seafood was bland and I was turned off by the raccoons out front. The outside area was pretty cool with the fire pit though. I will not be going back. No

Absolutely love!!! Went here for Mother's Day and mom was truly impressed. The shrimp and grits are to die for, and their homemade fried chicken cannot be beat. Great happy hour spot as well, always live music outside on the patio. Local spot that is off the tourist path.

After speaking to several people, everyone said I must go to Creekside Dinery for good food and service. We arrived last night and it wasn't very busy. The hostess sat us and we waited 15 minutes until my husband walked back to the hostess to ask if they could send a server over. About 5 minutes later, our waiter arrived - Matt. He mentioned that this was his 2nd day working. After we ordered our drinks we waited another 10 minutes before he came back and we ordered the crab bisque for appetizer and our entrees which were all specials for that evening. 20 minutes later, we still had not received our bisque so my husband once again went to the hostess to remind the waiter to send us our appetizer. He said he forgot. Nice. Next we received our meals. I had a pasta dish which was bathed in creamy garlic sauce making it inedible. My mother got the mussels on top of pasta which was crusty as if it had been sitting in the window for awhile. Needless to say she didn't eat the pasta. And my husband ate the blackened mahi which was decent. The best thing on the menu was the crab bisque. So if you are hungry, i would skip this place on your next visit.

  • Michael A.

The Dinery is always good for some form of entertainment - whether it be live music, the cats that greet you at the front door or the wildlife that's begging for food off the outside deck. On this night we had all three. We dined inside, it was a chilly evening. They had a fire going in the fire pit out on the deck and there were some diners out there. There were also 11 raccoons below the deck level waiting for handouts. The live music was also good. Food was great too. There were four adults and two youths. We had apps of Crab bisque, thick and flavorful, and Oysters Creekside. The oysters were very disappointing. Seemed like they came out of a can and were very tough and chewy. The salads were good as were the entrees: grilled chicken breast, dainty fried shrimp, blackened chicken salad and snow crab legs. The latter were cooked to perfection, the shell snapped and the meat pulled out. The kids had skinny sketti. All in all, it was another great visit to Creekside.

How did I miss this place all these years?? Maybe because it's hidden back in the trees on a gorgeous spot by the water and I just never made it that far. Delicious seafood, quaint atmosphere, and porch cats. What more could you want? Whatever you do, make sure you add grits to your meal. I had the Southern Comfort Shrimp and Grits and about swooned out of my chair. My mom loves the soup, my sister raves about the shrimp, and my aunt and uncle swear by the fish dip. So all in all, me and my family highly recommend Creekside Dinery. I heard a rumor that there's a S'mores pit and fixins outside. Looking forward to seeing if that's true. :)

I had the plank salmon and the husband got the plank ribeye and we asked for extra rolls so we didn't leave a drop on our planks! Awesome food and the service was great-will definitely be going back!

Wow! What a pleasant surprise. Found this restaurant by searching on yelp. Lived in area for years and never knew it was here. Great ambience at outdoor deck and bar area. Good band playing. Kinda felt like we were in the Keys. Started off with a colorful and generous house salad and garlic sticks. Husband had the shipyard platter - fried shrimp, scallops, crabcake, fish and two sides. everything tasty and perfect. He loved the citrus dipping sauce for the crabcake. I had the margarita snapper. Really good. Loved the sauce. Opted for the sweet potato as a side - fantastic. Very reasonable prices for the quality, quantity and great setting. We will be back soon. Oh, yea, don't let me forget to mention our waiter, Kevin. He really took care of us.

Cute and cozy house converted into a restaurant. Delicious food. Had the creekside shrimp to start and the chicken breast with orange dipping sauce. Had that with veggies & salad. House dressing is delectable. Comes with super soft garlic sticks. Everything was fresh, Tasty tasty tasty and so satisfying. My bf had cheesy grits, baked sweet potato & fried chicken. Great and prompt service. Reasonably priced. Has a private lot which is a definite plus given that parking is at a premium in St. Augustine. Right outside of the historic district which is what we wanted to avoid a little chaos after having gone exploring all day.

Great Fresh Catch of the Day (both the snapper and mahi mahi were excellent). My husband and I got them both prepared blackened. Also the cheese grits and side salad were delish as well. I like how you can sit in the open dining room or outside on the large patio. Great place and a lot better than Salt Water Cowboys (their sister restaurant).

This place was a wonderful hidden gem during our weekend visit to St. Augustine! The seafood was excellent. I had the crab bisque and snow crab legs, both were perfect. The steak my husband had wasn't quite as wonderful, hence the 4 stars. The environment is a little older demographic, but being in my later 20s still enjoyed the live music and outdoor dining. Plus there were a bunch of adorable raccoons by the creek, which are regulars, who stole my heart!

Second time eating at this wonderful restaurant. This time we ordered the crab bisque, which was amazing, the best I've had and I'm from the eastern shore of Maryland. The main dish of stuffed shrimp was good. Ordered salted caramel cheesecake and coffee for dessert. OMG deliciously sinful. Best pie ever. Very sweet. The service is very helpful and pleasant. Will definitely go there again.

I'm giving 4 stars for atmosphere, music, service and kitty cats! The hubs, boy and I came up from Tampa for a little weekend getaway. As usual we hit up yelp to find a spot to stuff our face holes with food and drink and to relax after a long hot day filled with touristy activities. We struck gold when we found this wonderful place. We arrived around 7:30 on a beautiful Saturday night and were greeted and seated right away by a smiley cheery hostess. Our table outside on the huge deck was perfect and offered a spectacular view of the water and a great sight-line to the stage where the band was about to get started. (They were Awesome!!) Our server was prompt, knowledgeable and super funny. He was training a new server who was shadowing him but it did not affect our experience one bit. Hubs and I ordered a lovely bottle of wine (nice selection to choose from) while the boy stuck to soda (don't judge...The kid was on vacation too) I was in the mood for some seafood and I heard theirs was good so I went big and ordered a broiled seafood platter with scallops, sheep's head fish, shrimp, and a crab cake. Two sides (great variety to choose from) came with it so I chose creamed spinach and coleslaw. The hubs (who isn't a fan of seafood......I KNOW RIGHT!! Something's wrong with him) opted for the Ribeye with a baked sweet potato and creamed spinach (not only is he weird but apparently a copy-cat too)....The boy got crazy and ordered the Sheep's Head...wait for it....wait for it....FRIED with a side of...you'll never guess. ...French fries!!! He's a rebel! Food came out fast and looked great but sadly...this is where it goes just a bit sideways for me. My fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly..terrific. My tiny little scallops were over cooked and under seasoned. The shrimp were a good size and cooked ok but could have used a bit more flavor. And the "crab" cake...the thing I was looking the most forward to fell flat. I still think they forgot to add crab..it really wasn't very nice at all and that made me sad.......that is....until the cat came up to our table! Very friendly fellow who appreciated the attention and the sad "crab" cake I fed him under the table. Now who's being a rebel? The boy shouldn't get all the fun. The creamed spinach was some if the best I've ever had....coleslaw was forgetful. My husband was happy enough with his food...and my son liked the fish. When on vacation you eat pie so to finish off our meal we all shared a piece of pretty dang good Key Lime pie with fresh cream topping. AHHHHHH...glass of wine, awesome band, a cat to pet and pie! Life is good!

First visit to Creekside was very enjoyable. The food was excellent and service was too. It was kind of chilly the night we went (Dec 15), so we opted for inside seating. Ambience was nice and our server was attentive. She even got me another meal order when the one I received wasn't really to my liking (my fault not the restaurant). Prices were reasonable, and portions were good size. Would absolutely go back.

Creekside has been a staple of St. Augustine for years now. I can remember when it used to sit all by itself down Boat Yard Rd... Pretty impressive that even as everything has been built up around it, it has remained a charming restaurant reminding you of Old Florida. We decided to not sit Creekside on a hot summer Florida evening, although it was nice to sit by the windows and look out over the marsh. Great atmosphere, very chill and relaxing, and the service was great. They have lots of specials here, mostly serving up seafood. The menu isn't overly extensive, but I did find a couple of great sounding items that I just couldn't decide on, so I went with my old standby, and got the fried seafood platter. Got a nice sized serving of fried catfish, shrimp, scallops, crab cakes and fries. The fish was fried up perfectly, and the crab cakes were pretty darn big, and pretty darn tasty. I gobbled everything up on the plate, and thanks to the unlimited delicious breadsticks, I left feeling fat and happy. This is a great local restaurant, and if you're looking for delicious seafood, this should be one of your stops, especially considering Red Lobster is less than a half mile away. Skip that place and come here for some REAL seafood and support the local restaurants. Definitely one of the most recommended places to eat in all of St. Augustine for the tourists and locals alike. I had a great meal here, not the best seafood I've ever had, but it was very tasty, the service was great, and you can't beat the view. Great restaurant.

This place was recommended by a hotel staff when I visited St. Augustine Beach. When we pulled to the parking lot, I knew this was my kind of place. The parking lot was completely made of dirt to give it an authentic southern feel. There were trees all over the "yard" so you can park where ever. The whole place had a rustic look. The restaurant looked like grandma's house. We were seated on the huge deck patio with a huge fire pit in the middle. One end of the patio overlooked the boatyard and marsh while the other end rested a stage for a live band to play. The band that was playing while we was there was Don David Trio. They were awesome and their music really added ambiance to the scene. The old magnolia trees spread its thick branches over the patio casting a nice shade. The service was fast. Our server took good care of us. The menu was unique. The price was fair. I ordered the seafood trio (fried flounder, scallop and shrimp) with the skinny schetti on the side. It was good and cooked just right. For dessert, we had a warm blueberry cobbler over vanilla ice cream. That was to die for! From the atmosphere to the food, everything was great. However, I WOULD NOT return to the restaurant. The only thing that bothered me was the two fat gray cats what roam the patio the whole time I was there. I am terrified of cats so I could not eat in peace. There's got to be some kind health department violation to have cats walking around a restaurant like that. One cat even jumped on a railing and sat right next to a table where people were eating. I was told that the cats belong to the restaurant owner. MESSAGE TO OWNER: NOT EVERYONE LIKE CATS.

A native Floridian told us this place is where people who live here in go to get a great dinner. He didn't exaggerate. I ordered the Rock Shrimp which I never had before and they were excellent. The portions are very generous. All the vegetables and my tossed salad were very fresh. It was raining out so the weather didn't allow us out on the deck but next time hopefully. We heard they have local bands too out there.

Crawfish is to die for!! Get it with roasted potatoes. Good atmosphere, we sat at the bar, the service was quick even on a big tourist holiday weekend. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere and good food! Cute restaurant that was recommended by a friend. The deck in the back gives this place such a great vibe. Mostly seafood but has many other options. A tad overpriced, but not bad. Give it a shot!

My husband and I have been vacationed in the St Augustine area for years and never knew about this restaurant until friends invited us to dinner recently. Creekside is easy to find but you can't see it when driving on US 1. We love the atmosphere and the food is excellent. We both had plank cooked salmon. Delicious! The wait staff is attentive and professional. They have live music outside at times. The restaurant also features an outside wood fire where kids can cook marshmallows. Love it! Creekside has become our new favorite restaurant.

It was the most AMAZING seafood I have had in a long time!!! The waitress was nice polite and always made sure I was comfortable. When i got the food, HOLY CRAP!!!!!! The portion of food I had was a very good size and for a very reasonable price. 5 stars all the way around!!!! Recommend for all who love good seafood and what not.

Great place. The service and food was excellent. Unfortunately I started the review while dining at the restaurant on 6/8/13. I don't remember specifics. But if I put 5 Yelps in my phone to start the review it was for good reason. The patio is a pleasant place to dine and I'm pretty sure the waitress did a good job of keeping my water glass full.

This is a can't miss stop in St. Augustine. Well worth the drive off the main drag. Excellent value, and service was great. Extremely beautiful setting on an inland salt marsh. We were there in late August sat on the deck, and it was perfect. Both fish dishes were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Sarah, our server was friendly and outgoing. Will definitely return.

Hands down..the best meal I have ever eaten! The breadsticks are amazing. The reviews all are correct. The key lime pie is to die for. Very nice ambience with quaint decorations. There are lights intertwined with netting hanging in the rafters. There is a table with a tree growing out of it. It even satisfied our pickiest eater. Highly recommend.

Best local place to eat in town. Great menu, eating outside is awesome. You can tell this is a great place to work because all employees have been there for a lot of years.

Reviewing based on an experience last month, and I will not take into account the fire alarm that went off unexpectedly during our meal (although there wasn't any issue) as I know it's not a "regular" occurrence (although it did score us a free desert!). I had suggested this to my parents in November when they were looking for a place while out doing errands in the area and I searched nearby the address where they were and found them this place. It's off the beaten path (as many have said) and the parking lot is definitely interesting (find a place amongst the sand and trees). If you can look past the cats on the patio (there awaiting droppings of leftovers from diners), this place is definitely solid. I was interested to visit when we were in the area in December and clearly my parents enjoyed it enough to return. The portions are large, but not overwhelming...the menu is varied (although heavier on the seafood, but St. Augustine is a beach town) and the server was attentive. I had the plank chicken with the fries, which was good. I started with the house salad and house vinaigrette, which was delicious. The breadsticks at the table were reminiscent of those at the Olive Garden. For dessert, we had a superb apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. I would give this a solid 3.25 - would like to revisit in better weather to take on the views and the marsh breeze.

Excellent atmosphere, very pleasant wait staff and the food was outstanding! We didn't get to sit on the deck due to a passing rain shower but we'll do that next time. I highly recommend the Margarita Fish. I had mine with grouper - FANTASTIC! Can't wait to visit again!

Views of the marsh that are to die for, large mature trees on the outside deck that provide enough shade to make dinner enjoyable even in the summer, but the food is overpriced for what you get. My wife and I ordered grilled shrimp, and we got 10 of the tiniest shrimp I have ever seen, and they were dripping in butter, even though we specifically asked how they were grilled. I ordered roasted potatoes, and they too were dripping in butter. If we wanted our food sauteed in butter, we would have ordered it that way. So for us, the meal was both poorly cooked and not at all filling. Other restaurants in St. Augustine have great views on the water and the food is always cooked well and the portion sizes are good.

The food is outstanding, so the place is pretty much always packed (not much of a wait though). My favorite night there was drinks and deserts out on the deck, while a bluegrass band jammed under the trees and stars. It was really special. They also have a fire pit out there, that I've seen folks roast marshmallows for s'mores. Sometimes I want to get in on the fun, but I haven't ever seen smores on their menu. When I'm back in town, I'll just have to speak up and ask. The restaurant is kind of tucked away, down some back roads, near the marsh, but that makes it really special

The atmosphere of Creekside Dinery is great. The staff had a great sense of humor and our food was brought to us in a timely manor. I enjoyed being tucked away in the woods and the local music was a huge plus. Both of our meals were extremely good and I really enjoyed the country style cooking. Be sure to sit on the deck, the local wildlife is amazing to watch!

Fun place of the beaten path. Deck has a great stage for live music, and friendly crowd. Even if you eat inside, feel free to make it out to the benches on the deck to enjoy music. Kids menu is limited to chicken tenders and a few seafood choices.

The food and service here is mediocre on a good night but we love the atmosphere and the live music. It's not the servers fault though the place is busy and they have a small kitchen. Come early or late to avoid the rush and grab a table by the creek and enjoy. The Cheese Grit's are amazing but stay away from the butter beans they need to be given a proper burial at sea.

My absolute favorite local place! Nothing better than cedar plank fish & cheese grits! And the use of datil peppers! True old Forude charm & flavors!

You'd never guess this place is right off a major highway, U.S. 1. Nestled behind trees, Creekside looks like an older, Southern house with an inviting porch and classic white fencing. The porch is equipped with chairs you can use while you wait (it can be pretty crowded here). Of course, you might have to wrestle a raccoon or possum for a seat - it is not uncommon to see them walking around the porch area. The food is delicious - it is country cooking at its best! I almost always order seafood, usually the shrimp combination, because I know it'll be fantastic. There is outdoor seating available and they have live music. It's a great place to catch up with family/friends and enjoy a terrific meal!

Excellent! Very cool, laid back joint that has a huge deck you can sit on overlooking the marsh/creek. Food was probably the best we ate during our week at Saint Augustine. Highly recommend the Plank choices (fish, chicken or steak), and the roasted potatoes were fantastic. Great service from Chris.

There is no better place to eat at with atmosphere like this one has. Outside deck - with the band playing - Winter time is nice too b/c they have a huge fire pit in the middle of the deck. Staff is always very attentive, but never over the top. Familiar smiles & faces (that even remember your favorite drink - Goombay Smash ... I really should buy stock in this place by now) Great owners and cooks. The food is over the top wonderful. Tallahassee Taster with the stuffed, grilled and fried shrimp (I recommend subbing' the fried for Beer Battered shrimp.) Another great dish is Plank Chicken or Plank Fish with the mustard sauce - (To die for) A++ / 5 Star. ~Jay~

While on vacation in St Augustine I decided to take a chance on this place after reading all the good reviews. I was not disappointed. It is kind of tucked away, but was actually very easy to find. There is seating inside the restaurant if you need air conditioning, but there is also seating outside on the deck. The deck looks out to the water and they have live music several times a week. I had a grilled seafood platter followed by the key lime pie. Both were delicious. The service was fast and efficient. This restaurant is an excellent choice for dinner in St Augustine.

I have family that live in St Augustine so I have visited many times and St Augustine has its own chemistry - its own flair. It often reminds me of an old rocker at my grandmas. Its quaint, friendly, comfortable and always has you ready to come back before you leave. Now that is my opinion of St Augustine - maybe its the family I have there maybe not but that is my reality. Having said that, on the way to Daytona we decided to surprise my aunt and uncle and eat in St Augustine, I was told my closest dearest foodie that I needed to eat at Creekside. He gave me this rant about how the food was ok not great but it earned an extra star based on atmosphere alone. Blah blah blah - we wanted seafood so it sounded fine to me Let me stop and get to the point this is a 6 star experience and his name is Daniel our waiter absolutely made the experience The potential for a rough experience was stout. It was raining and the main draw to the restaurant (aside from local seafood prepared for locals and not tourist - always a plus) is the patio and the live band. It was raining and a Tuesday we were stuck with a tree growing through the ceiling and a menu that had my veggie heart groaning. Then he walked up and insulted me and it was on LOL No, seriously the wait staff was the best I have seen. The restaurant itself was quaint and warm. I forgot about the rain shortly after sitting down. Jody ordered ribs (WTF - I know - Florida seafood and he gets ribs.... blah blah) and he said they were awesome - tender and juicy. I had this odd lil dish and fried potatoes, they were ok but seemed to get better the more I ate. My aunt and uncle both got a combo plate and each one of them looked like enough food to feed two. They both raved about how good their plate was. If the owner reads this - Daniel - you have a crowd pleaser with that one. BTW, cat or coon - definitely a question to ponder - that sucker is huge

Great food in a quaint setting. Service was great; our waiter had a great sense of humor. We had a large party (16 people) and were seated and served in a timely manner. The orders were accurate amd drinks came quickly and often. Great job Dinery!

This is a great little place off the beaten path! We started our meal with shrimp covered in a light BBQ sauce complemented with grits, cheese, and bacon- wow! We shared the plank fish, it was so tasty! Waitstaff was awesome too! Be sure to go on a night with live music.. It really adds to the atmosphere! Glad we checked our yelp reviews.

Eating at Creekside is supposed to feel like dining at a plantation, you know, minus the slaves. They totally got it right. The restaurant is off of a desolate road, right on the marsh and looks like a sprawling house. There is inside dining, as well as a huge outdoor deck. A review below mentioned a possum on the fence, which is totally possible, as is an alligator in the marsh or a raccon in the yard. This is Florida, people. This was the standard birthday/anniversary/ we want to go somewhere nice, but not over the top expensive spot for my family. I still love to go when I am in town. As for the food, this is primarily a seafood joint, although they do have chicken and steak dishes as well. I normally get the blacked mahi mahi with the margarita sauce ( can't remember the exact name of the dish). Anything cooked plank style is yum. I normally would give this 4 stars, but I have a soft spot because it's in my hometown and I grew up going here.

Is that a cat or a Possum? Wow this place was fantastic, a very rustic and quaint restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. I had the cider plank Mahi-Mahi with the mustard sauce. It was cooked to perfection and the side of cheese grits with extra cheesy, which I like. I also got a sweet potato and it was very tasty as well. Service was good, the server checked on us a lot but wasn't a bother. The price is good, you pay a little more than most places but the food is more than worth it. And yes while we were eating a Possum got on the outside deck and wondered around for a little bit.

Creekside's been around a long time and not only does it offer casual dining at it's finest but you also do it in an old florida cracker house on the edge of the intracoastal. It's always busy so start with drinks on the front veranda. Once you make it inside try to get the table that wraps around the tree or sit on the back porch and take in the marsh. Relaxing and you actually feel as if you're seeing FLA the way it used to be. There's lots of seafood here and its all fresh and tasty. My personal fave is the Duval plankfish. Yum- fish of the day is served on a wooden board with a slight coating of a mustard-based crumb batter. Way better than it sounds! There are no signs for Creekside and it can be difficult to find on South US1 so make sure to call for directions. This place is cool. Nuff said.

Athentic Florida seafood, steaks and other wonders. The dish to go for here is Plank-ed anything. The dish is broiled on an 1.5 inch thick oak plank for just a hint of smoky spice. you can get fish, chicken or steak. The fish is always fresh and seasonal. Covered, as mentioned by Annabelle, with a mustard/mayo sauce and buttered bred crumbs. The Creekside Punch cocktail was well balanced and a good foil to the sweet/tangy sauce on the fish. Note that with drinks and the fish (market price) this falls right in the cusp between moderate and spendy.

Big outdoor deck with on a quiet inlet just a block off US1. Our fish was fresh and well done, but nothing fancy...not a lot else really to write home about food-wise. Sides were typical diner fare and nuthin' special. If you're a practicing alcoholic, though, you can give this joint an extra star. Looks like a great place to hang back and drink yourself into oblivion if you're so inclined. However, i sure hope you get a better band than we got the night we were there. Five semi-comatose guys that looked like they'd had one too many before they plugged in their amps and proceeded to bludgeon their set list of the usual overplayed 70's tunes to death. .

The lobster bisque was memorable and I'd go back for it. My plank fish was ok but it took forever to get our food. If not for the poor service on this visit I would have given it a 5! The steaks looked great but we were the last to leave the place and were there entirely too long. The waiter stopped being cute after the first hour and half. He compped our soup. Wee.

Good place! Be prepared for a long wait because it can be busy. Laid-back atmosphere, sat out on the deck with the band playing. Generally an older crowd, but that's hard to not find in St. Augustine. The food was really good; I had the dainty diner with shrimp and you could tell it was really fresh.

  • Austin G.

Food was good. I have been here several times over the years and have never been dissapointed. It is out of the way from the historical area and tucked back in the woods so it isn't as busy as other resturants at the same rime. They have a nice outside area and have live music. It is a sister resturant with Salt Water Cowboys.

I recently had a party of 110 people at Creekside, and it was a huge success! The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. We had indoor and outdoor space, great live music and a fun, casual vibe that my guests loved. People dug the atmosphere, and who can resist roasting s'mores over their fire pit? Many in our crowd, including my husband, have been in the restaurant business for years, so to hear such glowing comments is a real compliment. The staff was "on top of it" in every way. Everyone had so much fun, we even extended the party for an extra hour, and some of our guests returned later in the weekend for dinner. It's a terrific place for a party.

It kills me to have to give this restaurant a 2 star rating, but I had the WORST experience there this past time and I will probably think twice about going here again. Every time my husband and I come to FL, we make it a point to go to at least 1 restaurant that serves decent seafood (since it's hard to get that in Charlotte short of taking out a loan to pay for it). We have been to Creekside before and have loved every bit of it, but this trip was horrible. Our waitress was a little dingy, but we didn't hold it against her. Normally we sit inside, but this time we chose to sit outside since it wasn't too cold yet. For the appetizer, we ordered the shrimp creekside. This was the only thing that was good (well, other than the tea). My husband and I basically ordered the same thing, only difference was that mine was grilled and his was fried. He ordered the boat yard (or something) with flounder and I ordered the grilled equivalent. My father-in-law ordered the flounder dinner with fries. All of our flounder was mushy, watery, and very bland, not what flounder is supposed to be. It was probably thawed out too quickly and thrown in the fryer/grill for too short of a time. We bring this to our waitress' attention and she quickly apologized and offered to get different fish. My father-in-law ordered the shrimp and nibbled on his fries until they got cold, my husband got the sword fish grilled, and I got the grilled tilapia that came with a really nasty hollandaise sauce. My fish came out correct this time, my husband, even though he was disappointed because he was really looking forward to the flounder, said the sword fish was pretty tasty, but my father-in-law said his shrimp wasn't that great. Overall, the dinner was pretty disappointing. So we get our check, nothing was compensated and they tried to charge my father-in-law the full price of the 1st meal he sent back, $20, instead of a plate of shrimp and fries, which would have been around $13. We had to speak to the waitress twice before she finally went to her manager to fix it. I have never had a more frustrating meal in a long time, but this was pretty bad. Hopefully this does not continue because Creekside really is a good spot for seafood.

The atmosphere is the reason to go here. Such a cute spot on the water. Live folk band playing. Stray cats wandering around our table. I only got the crab bisque and a salad so I can't really speak to the food, but I don't think it matters that much.

One of my favorite local restaurants. Casual atmosphere with a friendly staff. A good variety of dishes are offered to please most palettes. They have a nice deck to enjoy a meal, listen to music , and dance. You can even roast a marshmellow on the fire pit most nights.
